Propane Installation

Deciding to go with propane to take care of some measure of your home energy needs is a big decision. Propane is a safe, clean and efficient energy source, making it a great option for people in many different situations. Once your system is set up, you really won’t have to think too much about it. However, getting a propane tank installed and hooked up to your Zephyrhills area home can seem like an overwhelming undertaking.

Trust the Pros

When you call Bahr’s Propane for your initial propane tank installation, you won’t have to worry about a thing. Our expert staff and technicians will let you know exactly what you need to do and what to expect throughout the process.

For instance, before we install a propane tank for you, we will have to determine what size tank will be appropriate. This will have a lot to do with what you will be using your propane for and how much of a need you are estimated to have. Because heating is usually the main source of household propane consumption, you will need a tank that is big enough to satisfy your needs in that regard.

Of course, you probably don’t have much of an idea about how to gauge your heat usage and translate that into a propane tank size. That’s why we’ll take the time to walk you through the process step by step. The last thing you want is to have a tank that is too small, leading to frequent refills. When you go with Bahr’s, you can be sure you’ll wind up with just the right tank for your usage needs.

Propane Tank Location and Permits

Once we’ve settled on a tank size, we’ll have to determine where to place your tank and make sure all of the proper permits have been obtained from local officials. There are also several regulations in place that dictate how far propane tanks must be from buildings or certain public spaces. For instance, most residential propane tanks only need to be located ten feet from a building, but the presence of things like parking lots and playgrounds can also impact propane tank placement.

Propane Tanks

Before we can install your propane tank, there will need to be a concrete slab poured at the installation site for the tank to rest on. When everything is ready to go, we will coordinate with you to schedule your installation. On the day of your installation, there will be a Bahr’s technician on hand at all times to answer any questions you may have and let you know how the process is proceeding.

The first part of propane tank installation is the tank itself. Once this is in place, the installation crew will hook up the tank to your house and test the entire system for leaks. After that, a truck will arrive to fill up your tank and the crew will check all of your appliances to ensure that they are functioning properly. You are welcome to observe any and all aspects of this installation process and our technicians will be happy to explain all parts of our process to you.

After the installation is complete, our representative will go over everything with you as well. They will answer any questions you may have and show you how to operate all of the equipment. They will also go over with you what to do in case of a leak or other type of problem. This is a good time to become familiar with what propane smells like as well.

While the gas itself does not have an odor, one is added to it so that it will be easy to detect in the air. A Bahr’s representative will be happy to let you smell that gas in your tank so that you and your family members will know what to watch for and what to do if you think you smell propane. From start to finish, Bahr’s will be there to help you through your propane tank installation.
